We’ve been away and staying with my Mum and Step-Dad since Wednesday. By ‘we’ I mean the children and I, Bernie had work booked in so couldn’t make it.
It’s been a hectic few days, we left at 10am on Wednesday and got back at about 5pm yesterday. I literally did not stop for the entire visit, but it was great 😊. Wednesday afternoon I visited one of my oldest friends, I haven’t seen her in person since we moved to Shropshire nine years ago. We keep in touch, but it’s not quite the same as a hug, a cuppa and a good few hours chatting, is it?
From there I went to pick up my Mum and the kiddos from Mum’s house and we headed off over to the in-laws for the evening. Everyone had such a lovely time, and I even managed to get a full box of bags decorated for me, I can’t wait to mix them all in with the others. For anyone who doesn’t know, after my surgery I started asking friends and family that visited if they would like to decorate bags for me. Every single person has said yes, so it’s become a bit of a thing. I mix them all up in boxes and turn them upside down, that way each time I change my bag I have no idea what I’m going to get, it’s so much fun!
Thursday morning saw me have a bit of a lye-in, that wasn’t the original plan though. I had planned to pop out and completely surprise another friend, however by the time I actually woke up, I had to park that idea due to poor timekeeping on my part 🤣. So instead I stuck to my official schedule and went off to Cambridge for lunch with another gorgeous face. I got back to Mum’s in time for dinner, and followed it up with an evening in the pub catching up with yet another absolute star 🌟.
Friday was breakfast with more friends, and then sometime with Mum and Gary before heading home. The trip home was pretty smooth, oh apart from the new car breaking down 🤣. Don’t panic, easy fix and if you keep following the blog you’ll soon realise this type of thing is pretty normal in our world. Usually it involves us doing something after considering every risk, and then something absolutely ridiculous will happen instead, you couldn’t write it, honestly 😂.
Today I took Pippa (our Daughter) out for our ‘Us Time’ Christmas present. Basically at Christmas I gave the kiddos both an experience gift. The idea was that I’d missed doing so much with them in the past two years, that I wanted to do something with each of them to make up for it. I know I’ll never get the whole time back, but I can show them that their Mum is back, and that she appreciates how very special they are. I’ll never, ever, take our time together for granted ❤️
So, we went on a mini-moo experience day, and it was brilliant. Stroked them, fed them, groomed them, and then went for hot chocolate and lunch. It was a perfect end to a wonderful few days. Next up is Axe Throwing with my little man. Axe throwing 🤣💪 got to get a bit more strength before we can book that one though!
In my final piece of news I have after three months (yes three months yesterday since my surgery, can you believe it) eventually decided on a name for my stoma – I’d like to introduce you all to Paloma 🥰.
Named after Paloma Faith, I love her mind-set, I love her book, and I love her music- Paloma My Stoma ❤️
Why don’t you make your own kind of music too?
