Firstly, apologies for being quiet the last few days, but it has been chaos in my word.
It all began on Thursday with me starting to feel like I was getting a cold. They seem to hit me harder these days, probably due to have a lowered immune system from being so poorly for so long. I’m sure it will come back given time though. By Friday I was beginning my monthly cycle that blesses us women. Now I haven’t had an actual period in 18 months, a positive side effect of being poorly for so long 😉. However, I do now get a cycle again, all the joyous bits like tummy ache, backache, sore boobs, but on the upside still no bleeding 🤗. I’m taking it as a positive though, because it means that I am starting to recover and my body is healthy enough to think about a cycle again.
So by now I’m feeling pretty rotten. The backache prevented me from sleeping, which in turn made me tired. Alongside the tummy ache making me feel nauseous, which meant I didn’t feel like eating, which not only added to my tiredness, but also started causing issues of it’s own with my ileostomy, but I’ll get to that later! On top of which we had Beanie (our Son) going on a school trip to Madrid, so getting up and getting him to school for 3am added to the already horribly tired state I was in.
Thursday also saw the car go in for its MOT, and fail momentously! We’ve only had it a year and the MOT from last year said it had no advisories. Our mechanic (who happens to be a friend of ours) isn’t so sure about that though, as he said some of the work that needs doing would have taken more than a year to accumulate. Apart from two tyres and a dashboard light the rest appeared fine, so it came as a bit of a shock that it was actually a death trap waiting in the wings!
At this point we had a choice to make, keep it and splash a load of cash on getting it fixed. Or go car shopping and find something else. The quandary being that we had decided earlier in the week to buy a new van for the hubby’s (Bernie) business. We needed to do that in order for us to meet the expansion plans for the coming Spring season.
The decision was made, the car couldn’t be trusted anymore, we’d lost faith in it. So on Friday morning, car shopping with all my aches, pains and general unwell-ness it was!
By Sunday I was almost convinced that I had got myself a blockage, ironic given that my last post was about blockages 🤣. My stoma wasn’t passing anything much at all, not even liquid. I had aches and pains all over and couldn’t determine weather or not there was an actual problem, or whether I just hadn’t eaten enough so there wasn’t anything to pass.
I think this probably surmounts to more than three things, so I’m using my positive logic and have decided that I’ve had all my bad luck for now. Keep your fingers crossed 😉
So to summarise the last few days:
- No blockage 🎉 (note to self – eat properly)
- New car 🎉
- Sold old car for parts 🎉
- New van is fantastic 🎉
- Beanie had a wicked time in Madrid 🎉
- I’m finally starting to feel a bit better 🎉
- Going to visit my Mum’s for a few days tomorrow, and can’t wait to catch up with a load of friends that I haven’t seen in ages ❤️❤️❤️
