I have had a simple, but absolutely lovely day. Exactly what the Doctor ordered after such a busy day yesterday.
It started with Orchids and cards, followed by the school run. Once the children were at school Bernie (the hubby) and I went out for a run to test out my new running trainers that my Brother and his family got for me. They were great! I didn’t manage to run as far as I did last time, but I’m not beating myself up about it, as I was absolutely exhausted after yesterday, so the fact I managed any running at all was damn near a miracle.
Bernie then treated me to a lovely breakfast out, where upon I hastily gained any calories I had just lost doing my teeny tiny run. Quite possibly a few extra too, but it was scrummy, so what the hell 😉.
We then headed off clothes shopping not for us, but for Beanie (our Son). He is off on a school trip to Madrid on Friday and needed some new tops. We had strict instructions as to what he wanted. However as anticipated we got it all wrong 🤣. The whole lot was the wrong size, so I needed up going back this evening to replace it all, woo hoo 👏.
The afternoon was quiet, I had some Cornish Cream Teas delivered by my Mum. So Bernie and I enjoyed that, and then shared some with one of our neighbours. They are his favourite so he was thrilled! The tea itself was absolutely outstanding, and that’s coming from a Coffee snob, so it’s saying something. They were called ‘smugglers brew’ if you’re interested in trying them. I found them online to buy here for all you Tea Lovers.
After we had picked the children up from school, I headed off over to the retail park to exchange the momentous bag of catastrophes we had brought earlier. By the time I got home dinner was cooking, I chose Salmon fillets with hollandaise sauce, crushed potatoes and asparagus. It was truly sensational, perks of having a husband who trained as a chef I guess 😉.
I have taken a few small risks with my eating today, I figured it’s allowed. Asparagus is particularly fibrous so can be a little difficult to digest if not chewed properly, and there were walnuts in my birthday cake (my choice) which again don’t digest well if not chewed to a pulp. Now I absolutely do not want a blockage, but at the same time, I don’t want this ileostomy to define me. So I ate them both, enjoyed them, and chewed them like an absolute mad thing. So, hopefully fingers crossed all will be well, but the update on that will have to wait until tomorrow!
I’m now about to thrash them all at Monopoly, the F.R.I.E.N.D.S edition. When I say thrash them, for a bit of context, what I actually mean is:
I’m the only person in the house who likes the game. It’s my Friends edition game. And every single time I’ve ever played it…… I’ve lost horribly!!!!
Surely today has to be my day to win? Right?
Surely…..
