I left you on Friday with the fact that I was going to make my Step-Dad’s (Gary) birthday weekend really special. What I omitted to say, incase he read the post, was that we had planned a surprise birthday breakfast on Saturday. There were twenty-nine of us in total, and people travelled quite a significant distance to come along. It was a morning full of family and friends, and the best bit was he really didn’t have a clue ❤️.

It was a special weekend, as a family we have a lot to celebrate this year, but most significantly at the moment the fact that Gary actually made it to sixty in the first place. It’s not that long ago that there was a real possibility that we could have lost him. You can read more about it in The Story So Far. BUT we didn’t, and here we are celebrating sixty years of Gary!

The day followed on by lots of people back at ours, where presents were opened and time was spent together. Lots of laughter and fun was had. The girls all did one another’s hair, with a mixture of results 😉. I personally feel that my multiple plaits, as created by my talented Niece Daisy, was the strongest of the looks. I say strongest as I’m not sure I have another appropriate word for it. I’m glad she doesn’t have hairdressing in her future life plans, because if she did the world would need to watch out 🤣.

Takeaway for tea, I had jalapeños for the first time since surgery, and all seemed to go well with that. Another food that I can tick off my list of foods to reintroduce to my diet. We then went onto make cocktails, some of which were surprisingly tasty, and some that were the absolute opposite of tasty. For reference nobody should ever think tonic water is a good substitution for lemonade…. EVER!

Today we took my Mum and Gary to watch Beanie (our Son) play football. My Brother and his family met us there too, so that was lovely, real moral support for the team. They outplayed the other team, which was great to see, however unfortunately lost by one goal in the last minute, which was a shame. Hey ho there’s always next time!

This evening has consisted of watching Dancing on Ice, and catching up with the Masked Singer – Who is that Wolf? he’s amazing!

I haven’t done another run yet, but do have an awesome pair of running shoes coming from my Brother and his family for my birthday. So I can’t wait to get out again to try them once they arrive.

Anyway bed is calling, it’s been a long one, and the next couple of days are looking busy too, But that’s not for today, I’ll fill you in on that tomorrow. It’s like an Ad break, got to give you something to come back for 🤣
