Today I have spent my day having baby snuggles, there’s nothing better is there, it’s a real tonic for the soul!
So it’s no secret that last year was pretty crap for me, but the one thing that did bring fire to my soul was the birth of our first Grandchild, Jacob ❤️. I promised him, when I was sickly and poorly, that by the time he was ready to crawl, I’d be ready to crawl about with him. I have achieved that goal, in advance of my schedule, so I’m really chuffed. The best bit is Occupational Health at work have agreed that I should be able to manage my pre-illness work schedule of Monday-Thursday, so I’ll continue to have my Fridays free for snuggles even when I’m back at work ❤️.
This weekend we have got my Mum and Step-Dad staying. I intend to make it a special visit as he will be 60 on Monday, so a great excuse to make a cake at least 😉.
I spent an hour in the car waiting for the kiddos to finish school this afternoon, and read some more of my book. I joined a book club last month, the first book was a fail all around, nobody really enjoyed it, and it was a tough read. This month though is completely different, it’s amazing and I literally can’t put it down, a real page turner, ‘Lessons in Chemistry’. I’d highly recommend giving it a read. The highlights without spoilers are:
A woman in the 1950’s is unwed and has an unplanned baby.
She is a scientist and faces all sorts of misogynistic battles throughout her employment.
And that’s all I’m going to say other than it’s a real rollercoaster of emotions.
Anyway that’s enough for this evening, I’ll update you all on the birthday weekend tomorrow. In the meantime here are some baby snuggle photos for you to enjoy ❤️
